Our Guide biscuits are now better than ever after extensive quality testing done by the best biccie experts in New Zealand – our girls! Leaders and girls worked closely with Griffins to ensure the recipe, shape, colour, texture and packaging is up to standard, and the verdict was unanimous – not a crumb left in sight!

The Competition

Whether it’s in a savoury or sweet dish we want to see how you use Guide biscuits in your favourite recipes or be inventive and try something new!

From 1 March 2016 - 22 April 2016 we’ll be calling for recipes using Guide Biscuits as an ingredient.

You do not have to be a member to enter this competition.

How to enter

  • Create a recipe or adapt and old favourite using either Guide Original, Choc or Mini biscuits as an ingredient
  • Record the recipe,step by step
  • Make the recipe
  • Take a photo of the final product
  • Test the product to make sure it tastes good!
  • Send the recipe, the photo of your baking, along with your name, phone number & address to by 22 April.

The criteria

Our judging panel are going to pick the winners based on the following criteria:

  • Level of creative flair
  • Good use of bickies
  • Easy to follow recipe
  • Delicious looking picture

The Prizes

We’ve got some culinary prize packs up for grabs and of course you’ll have bragging rights if your recipe makes it into the 2017 new publication of our new biscuit recipe book.

Guide Biscuit Recipes

A great excuse to lick the bowl!

Guide biscuits are a versatile ingredient for a range of home baking including slices, cheesecakes, fudge cakes, truffles and pies. They’re perfect for keeping in the kitchen if you need to whip up a quick, easy treat for the kids or guests – download some of our recipes for inspiration!

Choc Caramel

Choc Caramel

  • 2 packets Choc Guide biscuits
  • 75g butter
  • 1 x 400g can sweetened condensed milk

Crush the biscuits roughly into a food processor, then process in short bursts until finely crumbed.

Melt the butter in a small pot or microwave bowl, then add to the biscuits and mix well. Press the biscuit mixture into a baking paper lined 20cm square tin, then pour in the condensed milk.

Bake at 160 C for 30-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and set in the middle. Remove from the oven, leave to stand until cool then remove from the tin and cut into fingers.

Lemon Cheesecake

Lemon Cheesecake

  • 17 plain Guide biscuits, crushed
  • 60g butter
  • 250g pkt cream cheese
  • 1 x 400g can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 Tbsp gelatine
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice (only ripe Lisbon variety lemon)

Melt butter and mix with the crushed biscuits. Press mixture into a 23cm foil-lined pie plate to form your shell. Chill in fridge.
Meanwhile, beat cream cheese until soft, gradually add the condensed milk, dissolve gelatine in hot water, add to the mixture with the lemon juice and mix well. Pour filling into the chilled pie shell. Refrigerate until set and ready to serve. Can be decorated with fresh or tinned fruit if desired. Serves 6.>
